I paid for the plugins—how do I make them registered?
There is no separate “registered version” of a Stillwell Audio plugin. The evaluation download and the licensed plugin are the same build. Installing a valid license file removes the evaluation status.
Current purchases
-
Download the current installer from our Downloads page.
-
Run the macOS
.pkgor Windows.exeinstaller, then open the plugin in your DAW. -
Your payment receipt will arrive from Stripe or Link. Your license is delivered separately by Stillwell Audio as an attached
.licensefile. -
Save the attachment to your computer. Open the plugin and drag the
.licensefile directly onto the plugin interface. Version 4 plugins should authorize immediately. -
Keep a backup of the original license attachment. If the file is lost, the plugin will return to evaluation mode until the license is restored.
If your payment is still processing, the license email will be sent after Stripe or Link confirms it. If the receipt arrives but the license email does not, check your spam or junk folder, then contact [email protected] or open a licensing support ticket. Include the email address used for the purchase and your receipt or order details.
FastSpring and legacy purchases
If an older FastSpring or legacy order supplied a .key file, that file is your license:
- Version 4 plugins can usually accept the
.keyfile by dragging it onto the plugin interface. - For an older plugin without drag-and-drop licensing, copy the
.keyfile into the same directory as the installed plugin file or bundle, then restart your DAW. - If the filename ends in
.key.txt, remove only the final.txtso that it ends in.key. - Do not open, edit, or double-click the file. Windows may show a Registry icon and macOS may associate it with Keynote, but it is still a Stillwell Audio license file.
- Keep a backup of the original file and fulfillment email.
If you purchased a REAPER-only, non-commercial license, the plugin will show as registered only while running inside REAPER.
More detailed paths and manual installation options are available on our current Installation page.
