Okay, you’re not going to like this…so far I can’t reproduce the behavior. I have taken a project, added various mixes of my plugins, mono and stereo to a demo project, played with it, saved it, quit Logic Express and reopened the project several times…no problem.
This was on a Mac Mini (Intel) running Leopard 10.5.4. I’ll try again on my G4, but everything seems to be fine so far.
Great plug-in. I have the same problem. If there is more than one instance it pops and goes silent. I have to restart than.
I use a Mac Pro 2.8 Ghz with OSX 10.5.4 and Logic Pro 8.02. There was one version that worked for me, I think it was the one from
Sept 19th. Also I loose settings when I reload a song. Happens with Vibe EQ and 1973 as well.
I hope having Logic helps you to figure out what’s wrong.
hmm… strange.
maybe it’s a compatibility issue while running alongside other plugs?
I’m pretty sure that most of the time it happens on channels with other plugs along with Rocket and not just rocket alone.
Well, I was using one of the demo projects off the DVD, there were tons of other plugs on all the tracks…all Logic-standard plugs, but it wasn’t my plugs alone.
Scott
Did you try to save a Logic song with more than one Rocket plug-in, than close it and open again?
It seems to me it always happens when you try to play a saved song with more than one instance.
Adding more in a new song is not a problem. Hope this helps.
Yep…I’ve saved one with 5 or 6 instances, plus other Stillwell plugs…no problem. Saved it with the Rocket UI open, and with it closed…doesn’t seem to make any difference. I’m waiting for a user I’ve spoken to to send me a sample project with exact instructions to reproduce the behavior. Hopefully that’ll tell us something more.
Hi- i recently purchased the rocket compressor, sounds great, but i’ve been having these same issues in logic so
i have been following this topic. I was surprised when i just had the same thing happen in Ableton Live.
I had a song with 3 instances of rocket, it was silent when i reopened it. After deleting all the rockets, audio came back.
Anyone else have this?
Seems i can open 6 or 7 instances in logic, then i get some loud pops and audio goes silent.
I noticed that resetting the master channel would sometimes bring back the audio, sometimes i had several plugs on the master that somehow
caused a problem in conjunction with rocket. Also when option dragging rocket across several channels audio was lost.
I’m on a macbookpro, osx 10.4.11, logic 8.0.2, live 7.0.9
hope it can be resolved soon, great sounding plug-in.
thought i’d chime in as well, I just had an issue with Reaper 2.5 - I put Rocket on a kick drum track (HiRes Drums Kick Control Phat preset) which worked brilliantly. I came back the next day and couldn’t figure out where my kick went - bypassing the effect brought it back, engaging - zippo. I removed the plugin (trial version) and re-added it and all was golden.
a quick follow-up: after the initial head scratching and replacing of the plugin, I reloaded the project a few hours later and had the same issue. again, this is in reaper 2.5 with the trial version.
I said this in my first post, but will say again (hope it helps). I’ve had this silence problem with Colortone and PSP Mix Pack (I think). So for me, it’s not JUST a Stillwell issue.
New version uploaded to website. I can’t get it to fail anymore, so I’m hoping I’ve got it fixed. The way it’s misbehaving and the things I had to do to fix it are REALLY weird, though…so if it still fails, or fails DIFFERENTLY for you, I need to know.
Scott- i just downloaded the latest from the site, sorry to report that after loading 3 instances in Logic it seemed good, then i option dragged a rocket to another channel
(to create another instance with same setting) and the audio went dead. I am using mostly in decadence mode.
Scott: I just played back two songs I was working on that popped and went silent after playing (both have more than one instance of the Rocket). Both songs played back without a hiccup with the new version. I didn’t try to add or copy-drag any new ones though.
I’ve been trying to re-create this problem with no luck using fresh reaper files etc… the one instance where I have this problem is a file with Superior Drummer 2.0 in a folder with 10 or so subfolders. The kick drum track has the rocket on it and it receives a midi send from the track with the S2.0 plugin on it. rocket works fine when i first put it in but not after save/quit/reload.
I’ve tried a blank project using just s2.0 with rocket on the kick in the same way as above (without the other tracks) but I can’t get it to fail in that scenario.
When rocket is muting the sound, the rocket GUI shows sound coming in and GR happening like it was working, but there’s no sound on the track and the track VU meter doesn’t register.
Sorry I can’t be more help than this but maybe you’ll notice something. If there’s something you want me to try please let me know and I’ll post back.
oh and I downloaded the latest version as of 9/29.
hope you get this figured out because i’m so buying this awesome comp!
