Hi, Can you explain a bit more what All mode does. I see it says it has a variable ratio but tell me more please.
Well, there’s not much more to say, other than it’s a fairly high ratio that varies over time based upon input level (signal dependent). Try it on a drum bus. It’s my own approximation of the “all buttons in” mode of the old UREI 1176 compressor. Is it close? Dunno how dead-on I got it, but it SOUNDS good. All mode isn’t about gentle compression, usually, it’s about squashing something until it starts crying for mommy. Think Led Zeppelin’s “When the Levee Breaks” or “Fool in the Rain”.
