I just tried to buy verbiage, but this would be the same for any other plug, I guess -
I am charged VAT (19%) by your shop provider. this should not happen when buying from Europe, there is no VAT when you buy a download license from the US. Any way to change this?

SWREG is the actual seller of the product, and since they have offices in the UK they are therefore required to charge VAT. Also, Software via download is considered a service and doesn’t benefit from a low-value exemption on imported goods.

If you are indeed exempt from VAT, you should be able to apply for refund from your local VAT authority.

that is because SWREG is considered a UK company for tax purposes. services from the US are not subject to VAT.
